Round The Island

A film by the British Transport film Unit released in 1956. The film shows aspects of life in the Isle of Wight and shows how rural the Island was at the time.

This 16mm print was shot in Technicolor and has been restored to it's original colour rendition by thw Webmaster Web Designer IoW. The film runs for 24 minutes and includes a spoken commentary by Ralph Wightman and the Island sailor Uffa Fox.

Places featured in the film include Ryde, Yarmouth, Ventnor and from the start Wolverton Manor in Shorwell.
